Sophia Kor

Sophia Kor is a passionate educator, instructional coach, and professional learning facilitator with over a decade of experience in education. Her career began as a piano teacher during college but quickly transitioned to the classroom when she became a teaching fellow with Breakthrough Collaborative and later served as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Taiwan. After returning to the U.S., Sophia joined the City Teaching Alliance, where she spent eight years as a middle school English Language Arts teacher in Baltimore City. During this time, she successfully implemented the Modern Classrooms Project teaching model, helping her students thrive academically.
Sophia holds a Master of Science in Secondary Education and Special Education from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from St. Olaf College. She currently lives with her partner in Alexandria, VA, and in her free time, enjoys hiking, listening to music, savoring good food, and re-watching The Lord of the Rings.
