What Research Says About Modern Classrooms
We always say that our instructional model is research-backed. But what does that really mean? To me, it means that:
1) The practices we promote are grounded in rigorous academic research. Since the beginning, we have worked with university-level researchers to understand best practices in blended, self-paced, mastery-based learning. This summer, we translated their comprehensive literature review into a series of teacher-friendly guides on our core practices:
2) Research validates the positive impacts that our model makes. For the past three years, we’ve worked with the same researchers at Johns Hopkins to understand the impacts our model has on students and teachers alike. Their 2019-20 program impact study found “overwhelming positive support for The Modern Classrooms Project from the perspective of both students and teachers who participated in the program during the 2019–20 school year.”
