Learn and Discuss with the Author:
Meet Every Learner’s Needs

In Meet Every Learner’s Needs, MCP Co-Founder Robert Barnett tells the story of Modern Classrooms — and provides simple steps that any educator can follow in order to help all their students succeed.

The book features practical guidance, research on the model’s impacts, and insights from 45 Modern Classroom educators worldwide. We want to give you a sneak peek! This fall, join the author for three live discussions, where he will explain how to:

  1. Redesign lessons, so all students can achieve mastery.

  2. Redesign courses, so students are appropriately challenged and supported.

  3. Redesign instruction, so every student can achieve their full potential.

You’ll leave each session with concrete strategies you can use to meet your learners’ needs, right away. You’ll also meet some of the expert educators featured in the book, and have the chance to win free signed copies for yourself and your colleagues.

Please register for as many sessions as you can! All sessions will be recorded, in case you can’t attend live.

Session 1: Redesigning Lessons

The first step in building a classroom that meets every learner’s needs is to design a lesson that engages all students, no matter their backgrounds.

In this session, you will learn to:

  • Digitize direct instruction, so students can learn from you anytime, anywhere.

  • Use class time effectively, through one-on-one and small-group instruction.

  • Assess and require mastery, with Mastery Checks, revision, and reassessment.

By the end, you’ll know exactly how to create a simple lesson that meets every learner’s needs.

Session 2: Redesigning Courses

In a self-paced course, every student can be appropriately challenged, every day. Then you can spend your time giving each student the support they need.

In this session, you will learn to:

  • Support student-led learning, by setting self-paced intervals and prioritizing content.

  • Optimize your LMS and classroom setup, with classroom-tested best practices.

  • Track and communicate progress, so every student knows what to do each day.

By the end, you’ll be ready to create a self-paced course in which every student can truly succeed.

Session 3: Redesigning Instruction

Once you know the Modern Classroom model, you can lead change - in your school, community, and beyond - by sharing its benefits with the world.

In this session, you will learn to:

  • Explain Modern Classrooms’ benefits, to students, families, and administrators.

  • Empower your colleagues, by sharing your approach and offering your support.

  • Shape the larger conversation, by advocating for policies that help your students.

By the end, you’ll know how you can contribute to a movement that aims to meet every learner’s needs.
