As a full-time employee of the Modern Classrooms Project, you will receive:

  • Modern Classrooms Project provides competitive salaries paid semi-monthly on the 15th and last day of each month. Our compensation philosophy ensures that all team members are fairly compensated for their contributions.

    We evaluate compensation regularly to ensure that staff members are being paid equitably and that our salaries are competitive with leading national nonprofits.

  • We provide comprehensive insurance options to support the health and well-being of our team members and their families:

    • Medical Insurance: Select from over 60 local and nationwide plans through CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, offered through our healthcare marketplace. Modern Classrooms Project covers 80% of the premium cost for you and your eligible family members, calculated using our designated reference plan as a benchmark. The reference plan represents a high-quality, no-deductible option. If you choose a plan with a lower premium, your out-of-pocket cost will decrease. If you opt for a higher-premium plan, you simply pay the difference.

    • Dental and Vision Insurance: We provide dental and vision coverage through CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. We cover 80% of premiums for you and your eligible family members, providing access to high-quality care for preventive, routine, and specialized needs.

    With a strong commitment to comprehensive coverage and significant employer contributions, our benefits empower you to choose the care that best fits your needs while enjoying peace of mind for you and your loved ones.

  • Take advantage of pre-tax savings for healthcare, childcare, or eldercare expenses with our FSA options. We offer both standard FSAs and a dedicated Child & Elderly Care FSA to help cover the costs that matter most to you.

  • Secure your financial future with our 403(b) and Roth 403(b) retirement savings plans, administered by Vanguard. Modern Classrooms Project offers a generous 100% match on employee contributions up to 3% of your gross earnings annually, with a vesting schedule of 50% after one year and 100% after two years.

  • Through our partnership with Wishbone, employees can access self-enroll, self-pay pet insurance for their furry friends, ensuring pets are cared for at any veterinary facility, including emergency clinics.

  • We care about your security and peace of mind. That’s why we fully fund Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, and Life + Accidental Death insurance through Unum. Our life insurance benefit provides coverage equal to one times your annual salary, with a maximum of $200,000, ensuring protection for you and your loved ones.

  • We offer a comprehensive PTO package to support your well-being and work-life balance, including:

    • Four weeks (160 hours) of paid vacation each year, plus the ability to rollover up to 2 weeks (80 hours) of unused time each year. 

    • Paid Sick and Safe Leave that accrues monthly to help you take care of yourself and your loved ones when needed.

    • Twelve weeks (60 business days) of paid parental leave for both moms and dads following the birth or adoption of a child.

    • Paid federal holidays, plus additional time off after Thanksgiving and during Winter Break each December.

  • We are committed to ensuring you have the tools you need to succeed, be well, and thrive in your home office remote environment. We provide an annual stipend of $1,200, distributed as $50 per paycheck, to support wellness and home office expenses. Wellness means different things to everyone, and we want to empower you to prioritize your health, balance, and productivity in whatever way works best for you.

  • Our team works remotely with flexibility to set their schedules. Core meetings are held between 10 AM and 4 PM ET, but outside these hours, employees can design a workday that suits them. Although our team lives across the world, we gather virtually as a staff at least once per week, and for an in-person retreat at least once per year. 

    To support you in working from home, we’ll provide you with a laptop and other computer hardware in addition to our annual Wellness and Home Office Stipend.

  • During paid team events like Lunch & Learns, hackathons, and virtual retreats, Modern Classrooms Project provides meal credits for delivery through DoorDash or local pickup, ensuring you can enjoy a meal while participating, no matter where you are.
